Phoenix has some decent schools, but nothing as good as UT. Phoenix (including nearby Scottsdale) is better for shopping and dining.īest community college/universities: Neither city is exactly a hub for higher education, but Austin has the University of Texas which is a very good school.

Austin is better for college sports, whereas Phoenix is obviously better for professional sports. Austin is a little bit closer to the coast, but not by THAT much. Price range of 1bdr apts that are nice: I'm not sure about the exact price range of 1 bedroom apartments, but both places are extremely affordable.ĭaylife: As for outdoor life, Phoenix and Austin are petty much equal within the city area itself, but Phoenix gives you easy access to mountain hiking, skiing, and other things around Arizona that you won't find in areas nearby Austin. Nightlife: Austin has the better nightlife of the two, especially for a single 22 year old. Overall the best city to move and why: Austin. Well I guess Austin slightly, the Hill Country can be very pretty. Neither of them will be that bad.īest scenery: uhhh. Lower overall cost of living: I don't know. Phoenix: Grand Canyon, Los Angeles (Hollywood, beach, etc), Lake Havasu, Various other national Parks, you have a better proximity to the rockies, San Fran, Yosemite, etc. which is FAR from Houston, New Orleans isn't THAT far either. What's more so property values are not that different from Dallas to Houston.Īustin: South Padre Island/Corpus Cristi, the Alamo/Riverwalk/Six Flags (San Antonio), NASA(Houston), Art's District (Dallas), National Forests to the east, Closest national park is probably Big Bend. Phoenix does have Los Angeles a little bit away, but you're dealing with a new state, which might be troublesome. So being in Austin gives you more of a central location in terms of being closer to a large city. Dallas and Houston are not gigantic leaps either. Either one would suit you.īetter job opportunities: Probably Austin, if not San Antonio is just down the road. The market is Texas is generally doing well, so I don't know. If you like the nice winters in Arizona with the horrible summers as opposed to a mild winter with a not-as-bad summer. You decide.īest city to spend the rest of your life and why: That's depends on what you like.

Arizona is notably famous for it's Blonde hair-blue eye girls though. So maybe Phoenix takes the cake here? Idk, I would say about the same?īeautiful girls: Well there's nice looking girls everywhere, but UT is SUPPOSEDLY filled with them. Not because of any prior experiences, but since it is a young people's city, they tend to follow newer trends. Traffic: I wouldn't know, my traffic experiences in either city haven't being bad.įriendly people: mmm Idk, Texas is SUPPOSEDLY friendly but Austin is an inaccurate representation of Texas. The summers in Both Phoenix and Austin can be a bit much, Phoenix's tends to be worse, I won't lie.īest community college/universities: Well I don't know ANYTHING about the Community Colleges in Austin, but as far as universities I think there are a few around, obviously UT being the largest and most prominent.

San Antonio is a just a little bit away where you can raft. It depends where in the city.ĭaylife: Austin has a few nice mall, and there is an Outlet mall in Round Rock I believe. Price range of 1bdr apts that are nice: I wouldn't know. Which means it orientated towards young people Not saying Phoenix doesnt have any, but Austin is a College Orientated city. Nightlife: Austin is known for it's College-aged filled clubs. As far as a job goes i will be able to transfer to any city in the us that i would want so that isnt a problem. I wish to (like any other New Yorker) leave the snow. I am 22, single, have no dependants, attatchments and I am looking for somewhere that has a good change of pace for me. Traffic: (getting from one side to the other, the length of time)īest city to spend the rest of your life and why: but in nice areas)ĭaylife: (sports, parks, shopping centers etc) Price range of 1bdr apts that are nice: (600 tops, high 400 low 500 pref. Nightlife: (including bars/clubs, if there is more specific please list) Things that i will be taking into consideration for where i wish to relocate:
